District 10 Bar & Restaurant at UE Square - The Ambience The Chef The Menu The Signatures The Promotion

The Beginnings


Under the Bonta Group of Restaurants, District 10 opened its first outlet along Winstedt Road in September 2009. Relocating to UE Square after two years, District 10 has now expanded to include two more outlets in Singapore at the Star Vista as well as Clarke Quay. 

All three outlets differ in concepts, with the flagship store at UE Square offering an extensive gourmet menu as well as bar bites, whereas the Star Vista outlet provides a ‘tapas-style’ option. The Clarke Quay outlet provides a more limited selection of bar bites for party revelers in the area. The latest development at District 10 sees the brand branching out beyond the island and opening one in Medan, Indonesia, in June 2013.   

The flagship outlet at UE Square recently unveiled a new spruced-up look for its indoor dining area with a sleeker dining room, bar and private dining room. On top of that, the restaurant now offers a more gourmet dining room menu — bringing back some of Bonta’s bestselling items and a more extensive wine list with boutique labels.

The Ambience 


The Private Dining Room (below) is elegantly designed with dark teak wooden panels lining the four walls complete with placement of spot-lights at strategic corners, giving a warm ambience.



Prominently displayed on the teak panels are some of the more distinguished labels. 









The inner dining area has more than ten square tables, each with a set of four wooden black chairs with 



The outer alfresco area spots high bar top tables with bar chairs.

The Menu 


The Signatures 
Starters  
1) Green Asparagus, Fried Egg Sunny Side Up & Sage Butter $18++  
Tasting Notes : Crunchy Asparagus pairs well with the runny yolk of the sunny side up, with the sage butter lending a buttery flavor. A pretty light appetiser. 


2) Burratina Cheese with Peas, Sun-Dried Tomato Puree & Extra Virgin Olive Oil $18++  
Burrata (means "buttered" in Italian) is a fresh Italian cheese, in the form of a pouch/sac, made using mozzarella and cream with the outer shell of solid mozzarella pouch and the inside filled with delicate milky mousse of mozzarella and fresh cream, resulting in an unusual, soft texture. Burrata is usually served fresh, at room temperature. When the burrata is sliced open, ritagli-thickened panna (cream) flows out. The cheese has a rich, buttery flavor and retains its fresh milkiness and is best consumed within 24 hours. 
Tasting Notes The flavor and different textures of the inside and outside make it go well with salad, fresh tomatoes with olive oil, and cracked black pepper.  The Burratina has a cheesy soft outer texture with a creamy centre which has a tinge of fresh sweetness when you roll the cheese in your mouth.   


 3) Pan-Fried Goose Liver, Wild Berries Sauce & Balsamic Syrup $20++  
Tasting Notes : The outer layer of the Goose Liver is pan fried till crisp & fragrant with the liver cook just firm on the outside yet nice and tender on the inside. The Wild Berries Sauce & Balsamic  Syrup lends an added sweet tarty flavor. 



 Mains  
4) Roasted Atlantic Cod Medallion, Spanish Smoked Paprika & Herbs Oil $32++
Tasting Notes : The frozen Cod is pan seared then baked in the oven on medium high heat, resulting in gentle soft meat with a mild tinge of spicy flavor due to dash of paprika on top of the Cod.


 5) Crispy Goose Leg Confit, Roasted Garlic & Soft Potato Mousse $29++ 
Tasting Notes : The Goose Confit meat is tender and tears off the bone easily, the crispy skin is lightly salty, whilst the mashed potatoes tastes buttery sweet with a smooth melt in your mouth consistency.

6) Homemade Foie Gras Ravioli, Light Parmesan Sauce & Scamorza Cheese $34++ 
Scamorza Cheese typically is made from raw cow's milk, is firm, generally buttery without any holes, but less tender than the Mozzarella, has a mild nice smell, usually white in color, with a smooth texture
Tasting Notes : The Foie Gras Ravioli has a cheesy texture due to the Scamorza Cheese used in this recipe, the Foie Gras is tender fresh, with a melt in your mouth consistency, not oily. 








7) Homemade Angel Hair Pasta with Lobster, Pepperoncino, Basil & Fresh Tomatoes $38++ 
Tasting Notes : The Angel Hair Pasta is cooked thoroughly and totally infused with the flavor of he tomatoes and not al dente, and bears a mildly spicy taste due to the pepperoncino used in this recipe. Chef Luca Pezzera uses fresh lobster meat that tastes absolutely sweet, the meat is firm and cooked till juicy tender. The Angel Hair Pasta is made using eggs as core ingredient, which explains the eggy texture and flavor. 



Steaks (Prime beef grilled over hot charcoal, served with natural cut fries and mixed salad)  
8) Signature Black Angus Beef Striploin, Fried Eggs & Black Truffle $36++  
Tasting Notes : The Angus Beef is grilled over charcoal fire that cooks the beef slowly & gently - giving rise to its chewy, tender & juicy texture. The in house brown sauce that accompanies the beef tastes really savory.                        



 Desserts  
9) Traditional Italian Tiramisu $14++  
Tasting Notes : The Tiramisu is pretty light, mildly sweet with strong coffee aroma. 


10) Cinnamon Apple Fritters with Icing Sugar $12++ 
Tasting Notes : The Cinnamon Apple Fritters taste sourly sweet with distinct cinnamon flavor. Chef Luca Pezzera uses fresh Granny Smith fried in thin layer of batter. 

 Drinks  
11) D10 Punch (for 3-4 pax) - A blend of Moscato wine, Crème de cassis, dark rum, apples, strawberries, mixed berries and ginger ale $34++  




12) The Watermelon as well as Sugarcane Gin & Tonic is part of the current Happy Hour promotion here. 



The District 10 House bread with Feta Cheese must be eaten with Anchovies in Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO)
