Thai Festival at The Royal Thai Embassy 2015 from 3 to 6 September 2015

Every year The Royal Thai Embassy conducts Thai Festival on the grounds of The Royal Thai Embassy here in Orchard Road. This year it falls from 3 to 6 September 2015. Being the foodie that I am, I headed down to their opening on the first day. 

Thai Chili Sauce 
My first stop was this merchant who came up with 3 flavors of Thai Chili sauce that pairs very well with meat & seafood & tasted so good I bought 3 bottles. 


Thai Sauces & Condiments 
There's another merchant selling a broader selection of condiments & sauces for use in cooking Thai cuisine 

Thai Coconut Crepe 
The all time favorite Thai Coconut Crepe is also on sale at the Thai Festival.

Thai Sausages 
Here's some Thai Sausages marinated & seasoned with various commonly used Thai herbs such as Thai Basil, lemongrass, shallots, garlic, etc. 


Mini Sausages 
Besides the long sausages this booth also sells the mini sausages 

Thai Deep Fried Bacon Strips 
These are the deep fried bacon strips fried to a golden crispy texture. 

Thai Mango & Papaya Salad
This booth sells the traditional Thai Mango Salad & Thai Papaya Salad. Check out the core ingredients used in these Salad recipes : dried shrimps, mini black crabs, tomato, onions, shallots, green mango, green papaya.

Thai Mango Salad 
This is another booth that sells Thai Mango Salad using core ingredients such as peanuts, Thai Green Mango, long beans, tomato, dried shrimp, dried chili, garlic, lime. 

Papaya Salad
The papaya salad is made using key ingredients : green papaya, carrots, long beans, red chili, cabbage. 

Barbecued meats 
This booth sells meat such as pork that are marinated with spices, skewered on a stick, then barbecued over charcoal fire. 

Pad Thai
There is also a stall selling Pad Thai using key ingredients such as Thai rice noodles, prawns, eggs, tomato, bean sprouts, chives, fish sauce, cooking oil, lime, peanuts, garlic, tamarind paste. 

Barbecued Meats 
Right at this other corner of the Festival is a second booth selling meat skewered on a stick then barbecued to perfection. 

Thai Mango Salad, Papaya Salad, Seafood Salad
Another Booth selling Thai Mango & Papaya Salad. 

Thai Desserts 
This is a booth selling a good selection of mouth watering traditional Thai desserts such as Loop Sop,  Thai Sticky Tapioca, etc. 


Thai Curry 
These ladies serve 3 different types of curry at this booth : Nam Ya Ka Ti, Nam Ya Korat, Nam Ya Pak Tai 

This booth serves Fried fish with Thai rice noodles.

Thai Cuisine Cooking Demonstration 
Besides the food booths selling manly Thai cuisine, there is also Cooking Demonstration at the Thai Festival as part of the program. Below our Thai lady Chef demonstrates how to cook Thai Fried Pineapple rice.

Boat Noodle 
Free food sampling is available at this Boat Noodle booth. 

Some good stuff goes inside the Boat Noodle dish, ingredients include the dried shrimp, Thai rice noodles, coriander leaves, meatball, minced meat, soup broth. 



Bau Loy Kai Wan Stall 
Another free food sampling happens here at the Bau Loy Kai Wan stall here that serves a dessert called Kha Nom Bua Loy. 




Muay Thai Boxing Performance
After much feasting of the palate & stomach, its time for feast of the eyes. There were remarkable performances by these Muay Thai Boxers. 



Thai Cultural Dancers 
These beautiful Thai female dancers dance to the beat of traditional Thai music to the delight of all the onlooking spectators. 




I enjoyed myself so much I took some time to pose with the display panels at the Thai Festival. 


Am so thrilled with my visit I am so looking forward to next year's The Royal Thai Embassy Thai Festival Open house.
