Kuru Kuru Japanese Restaurant at Valley Point - Tori Katsu Karee Raisu (Japanese Curry Cheese Baked Rice with Deep Fried Chicken Fillet)

This is the Tori Katsu Karee Raisu (Japanese Curry Cheese Baked Rice with Deep Fried Chicken Fillet) available in the Ala Carte Menu at Kuru Kuru Japanese Restaurant at Valley Point. In Japanese Cuisine, the curry is available in roux. The curry sauce is made by frying together curry powder, flour, and oil, along with other ingredients, to make the roux.
Food Tasting Notes: The Chef uses Japanese short grain pearl rice. The curry gravy lets out an intense curry flavor, mildly sweet, with a fragrant smell, has a very homely feel to it. The melted cheese covers the curry rice below. When you take a bite of the two and chew thoroughly, the combination of the cheese and the curry lets out a savory, sweet, cheesy taste that lingers in your palate. The Chef takes pain to fry the chicken chop till just right and not too overly done, so that when you bite into it the juice oozes out gently. I like it that the chicken chop is pretty thick and evenly coated with just a thin layer of panko (Japanese breadcrumbs), so that it does not soak up too much oil and fats. Typically to cook the chicken chop, you have to put the flour, egg and panko in separate bowls. Dust the chicken chop into the flour, then dip in the egg, and coat with the panko. This dish is best eaten when served hot. The portion is huge, so dating couples or BFFs can share this dish.
