The Ambience
Nestled away at 69 Tras Street is Chef Patron Frédéric Colin's latest food establishment named after a character called Gavroche in Les Misérable : Café & Bar Gavroche
This follows the success of his flagship outlet Brasserie Gavroche, which is situated right across Café & Bar Gavroche. This new Cafe is situated in a conservation shophouse, and is divided into three sections. The first section showcases the main Bar area, replete with a 4.2m wooden bar originating from Normandy, pre World War II, circa 1920.
Next is the indoor “Terrace” section, a natural light filled space with cobblestone flooring, fringed with an indoor tree. Fitted with Drucker wicker chairs and tables, a sense of an outdoor setting within is created, reminiscent of a typical Parisian Café – perfect for people watching.
The final section features a cozy dining area decorated with an antique 300 kg cast iron stove complete with hood, a rustic wooden table and country style chairs, Opaline hanging lamps with wall-hung copper pots of various sizes. Besides being an ideal hangout spot for diners who just longs to embrace that nostalgic homely haven feel, this is the space for Café & Bar Gavroche's Wine Guru Mr Manuel Rodrigues to conduct his Wine Flight Expeditions.

The Wine Guru - Mr Manuel Rodrigues
Mr Manuel Rodrigues is no stranger to Singapore’s wine scene. Having spent the past three-years at the city-state’s leading luxury hotel The St. Regis Singapore as Grand Sommelier, and subsequently as Operations Manager of French restaurant Provence, Manuel knows a thing or two about the country’s growing interest and enjoyment of wines. He has now teamed up with Chef Owner Frédéric Colin of Café & Bar Gavroche to helm the Parisian café’s wine list, and works hard to source value-for-money wines from France that are as delightful as they are affordable.
