JE T’AIME MAMA – MOTHER’S DAY SERIES 2012

“I love you mother” - four words that most of us fail to say too often. Je T’aime Mama is a feminine line up highlighting the flavours, colours, and objects that remind us of that of that extraordinary woman who brought us to the world and held it up through the moments when we feel we can no longer do so. This Mother’s Day, Executive Pastry Chef Christophe Grilo, a finalist at the recent World Gourmet Series Awards of Excellence 2012, designed a gorgeous collection of handcrafted lipsticks, fragrant rose macarons, and limited edition cherry and pistachio cake to celebrate the women who gave themselves up for us physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Reminisce the moments when young daughters gaze with envy at their mothers holding up a mirror and colouring the lips of encouragement, dreaming of the day when they grow old enough to do likewise. Canelé commemorates this girly memory with our Rouge a Lèvres, a range of delectable chocolate lipsticks in three flavours- milk chocolate, dark chocolate and raspberry white chocolate. Retailing at $8.50 per piece or $15 per pair, the chocolate lipstick is a petite treat that fits into your favourite clutch and enjoyed whenever the occasion calls for a candy.

La Cerise Et La Pistache ($36 per whole cake), our pistachio sponge cake layered with cherry marmalade swathed in fluffy mascarpone cream and chocolate chip hearts emphasises on light and fruity flavours favoured in spring. Gentle and not cloying on the palate, La Cerise Et La Pistache is a reflection of the gentleness of a mother’s love. Paired with a charming glass of white wine, the exquisiteness of each bite mirrors the beauty of a mother’s heart.

Part 1 - Kiseki Japanese Restaurant - from Heeren to Orchard Central

This past Sunday 22 April 2012 I was invited to Kiseki's Japanese Restaurant at Heeren for their Farewell Party. Kiseki will be closing it's shutters here at Heeren on 22 April 2012 after sending off its last customer when they close after dinner. Kiseki will be moving to Orchard Central in June 2012, so watch out for my announcement come June 2012 when Kiseki opens qt their new premise at ORCHARD Central !

Before the move I had this rare opportunity to document and showcase the fabulous buffet spread at Kiseki ! Be sure to expect more when Kiseki settles down at ORCHARD Central !

Met Jenny Tan who owns Foodcult Pte Ltd at the FHA 2012. She invited me to lunch at Sardinia booth where the Italian Chefs prepares 3 course lunch. Here's the food we sampled.
