My Birthday Treat with Bob - Soup Restaurant at Causeway Point Level 5

Bob and I wanted to have a pre-birthday celebration at Causeway Point's BALIthai at Level 5, but the tables were full, and were filled with many of our Muslim friends awaiting to break their fast for the day. So we went on further  to queue at Soup Restaurant as the other restaurants like Gurney Drive, Shabu Sai, Dynasty Paradise were full house and crowded as well.

Thank God we finally managed to get a seat, and I was pretty hypo-glycaemic by then. I hurriedly ordered Soup Restaurant's Signature Samsui Ginger Chicken, Kangkong, Signature Hometown Tofu, Soup of the day. Here's how our dinner looks like :

Samsui Ginger Chicken

To really enjoy the original taste of the Samsui Ginger Chicken, it would be great to simply dip the chicken into the grated ginger with sesame oil, plus (I usually will ask for ) fresh cut red chili with fresh chopped garlic - the ginger serves to clear wind in your abdomen, the garlic gives you that additional anti-oxidant boost, and these whole herbs & spices give this dish an added dimension to the otherwise plain steamed chicken.

Stir Fried Kangkong

Signature Hometown Tofu

Signature Hometown Tofu comes with crispy bits and shavings of scallions laden on top of the silky Tofu that was deep fried, served in dark soya sauce gravy. The Tofu is silky, smooth and tender to the bite.

The soup of the day served was Lotus Root with pork ribs soup. The pork was stewed till tender, the soup was boiled till flavor of the lotus root and pork infuses into the soup to render a sweet taste. Total Bill came up to be $48.36, and we considered money pretty well spent.
