G2 organised lunch at Hung Kang Teochew Restaurant located at 28 North Canal Road to celebrate Dad's 88th Birthday. It's been quite a while since we last visited Hung Kang Teochew Restaurant to celebrate Grandma's birthday. I vaquely remembered everything pretty much taste similar as the dishes were mostly braised, Teochew style.
Right at the top of the entrance main glass door is hung the restaurant's name with traditional Golden words in Chinese against dark black background. On the right of the entrance door are displayed the accolades given by Wine & Dine as Singapore's Top Restaurant in 2008, with its Steamed Pomfret being listed as the Top 100 Signature Dishes in 2005. The restaurant has been serving authentic Teochew style Cuisine since 1962, long before I was born.
This period the restaurant is running a Hung Kang Birthday Set Menu $468 with no GST no service charge as seen here below :
