Lim Chee Guan is one of the reputable bak kwa stalls we usually patronize whenever we have a craving for bak kwa. Bak kwa is the Asian equivalent of beef jerky, just that the best selling ones are made from pork. We like Lim Chee Guan's serving as the barbequed pork slices are not very oily.
Bak kwa is the must have snack found in most Chinese families during the Chinese New Year Holidays. It is usually cut into bite sizes and eaten plain. When cut into smaller bite size pieces, it can be introduced as an appetising ingredient in many dishes : be it Seafood fried rice, or Korean Bimbipbam, or sambal Nasi goreng, in sandwiches, on top of pizzas, in Claypot rice, etc. The Bak Kwa never fails to pack a punch.
It is an acquired taste, just like sashimi - either you loved it or loathe it.
