Kung Bao Chicken 宫保鸡丁& Black Pepper Crab at Chye Lye Restaurant

Bob & I were game for Black Pepper Crab so we headed off to Chye Lye Restaurant at 1, Jalan Legundi (Opposite Sembawang Shopping Centre) for a feasting.

Our must have is Chye Lye's Kung Bao Chicken 宫保鸡丁.
The chef uses freshly diced fresh chicken stir fried with onions, dried chilli, spring onions, ginger, cashew nuts in sauce base made up of Hoisin sauce, ShaoXing Rice Wine, Sugar, Sesame Oil. The Result : sweet savoury spicy tasty chicken that goes well with rice.

Black Pepper Crab

Usually for Black Pepper Crab : we would order the male crab as the male crab is likely to be more meaty without the roe. In the female crab, the roe with add a little to the weight of the crab, as such the portion of meat per Kg is lower.

The Black Pepper brings out the taste of the freshly cooked crab really well. The crab is cooked just right and oozes out freshness as you pry open the pincers.
