Yours truly had wanted very much to re-visit YumCha at BizHub Avenue 1 next to Changi City Point, but SIL Grace wanted to go Din Tai Fung at Parkway Parade, whilst MIL offers to go with the flow.
Bob decided not to accede to any of our requests and desiring to "punish us" by bringing us to some place new to us, landed us at Old Town White Coffee at Blk B #01-04/05, Big Splash, 902 East Coast Parkway, Singapore 449874.
All 3 gals ordered the Ayam Rendang as the Beef Rendang is not yet available on the menu. It comes served with achar, sambal fried chicken, nasi lemak, ikan bilis, kacang, cucumber slices, crispy cracker, sambal chili, poached egg on top at a price of S$11.90. The sambal chili goes pretty well with the rice, but the fried chicken skin is a tad too dry, hard & cold. I would assume the fried chicken piece is not fried ala minute, which explains why it is cold. Between this Ayam Rendang and that from PappaRich, I prefer the latter.
Bob ordered the garlic toast & sugar toast. between the two I preferred the garlic toast. Only thing commendable is the coffee with hazelnut I ordered - strong full flavored with the hazelnut tinge coming through lightly.
