Swirl@rt Cafe at 417 River Valley Road - Background and Origins


Back in the year 2010, Swirl@rt started off as a successful Specialty Cafe specializing in 100% fat free Premium Self Serve froyo (frozen yogurt - with live Lactobacillus bulgaricus culture, served in various flavors) and cupcakes.

In early 2013, Swirl@rt Cafe underwent a makeover with changes in the venue, concept and menu - the four partners in the management team injected a lot of new ideas to expand the business, incorporating a Fusion and Western Cuisine into the menu on top of the existing froyo (frozen yogurt) selection. 

Food Menu - The four owners at Swirl@rt Cafe have expanded the menu to include full dining experience with new menu items including these below : 
  • 7 All Day Breakfast, 
  • 4 Appetizers, 
  • 6 Salads, 
  • 13 Mains, 
  • 7 Pastas, 
  • 4 Sides, 
  • 4 Bakery. 
These delicious mouth-watering dishes are painstakingly prepared using the freshest, finest and quality ingredients typically used in 5 Star hotels but at cafe pricing. 

Froyo MenuAt Swirl@rt Cafe, the froyo is 100% non-fat, does not contain gelatin and is gluten free. Swirl@rt Cafe uses certified live culture yogurt. The yogurt mix for the yogurt is also certified with live cultures. The fruit flavorings used at Swirl@rt Cafe is made from real fruits puree in glucose syrup. 

Today, Swirl@rt Cafe has a wide selection of 20 types of flavors below. However at any one time the Cafe can only dispense 8 flavors as there is total of 4 Taylor machines with 8 dispensers available at the Cafe:

1. Milk fats (provides rich texture to the yogurt), 
2. Milk solids not fat = made of 55% milk sugar + 37% protein + 8% minerals (gives volume to the yogurt), 
3. Sweeteners (e.g. cane sugar/ beet sugar improve body and texture of the yogurt), 
4. Yogurt culture (e.g. Lactobacillus bulgaricus, Streptococcus thermophilous), 
5. Natural/artificial flavoring e.g. fruit and fruit extracts, nuts, cocoa, vanilla, etc.
6.  Natural/artificial coloring, 
7. Stabilizers e.g. animal gelatin or vegetable additives - serves to stabilize  the yogurt to maintain a smooth consistency. 
8. Emulsifiers e.g. fatty acids serve to add firmness to the body, help blend the liquid.
