The Beginning
Executive Chef Mani used to helm the kitchen at StewHaus at Seletar Garden, 6 Cactus Road (off Yio Chu Kang) serving Swiss German Cuisine to diners before it was closed due to en bloc sale.
Mr Chua was a regular patron at StewHaus, loved the Swiss German Cuisine served there, and was very impressed with Chef Mani's culinary skills, he was however sad to see StewHaus' closure due to en bloc sale.
Mr Chua had purchased a coffee-shop located at Blk 119 Bukit Merah Lane 1 & decided to develop this coffee-shop into a hip joint and watering hole for beer lovers as well as gourmet food lovers' haunt. He approached Chef Mani to helm the main kitchen at the coffee-shop and named it Stew Kuche, serving Swiss-German Cuisine. And this was how Stew Kuche started at 119 Bukit Merah Lane 1.
The Ambience
Stew Kuche is housed inside a coffee-shop with seating capacity of about 180 -200 pax, with about 20 tables inside the coffee-shop, 10 tables right outside the coffee-shop and another 12 tables on the extension outside the coffee-shop. The coffee shop has a very laid back alfresco setting, and is an ideal location to hold big events and functions, birthday celebrations, parties.
