Chef Profile: Manjunath Mural
With more than 14
years experience, Mumbai-born Corporate Executive Chef has worked in the best
five-star hotels in India including The Centaur Hotel, The Renaissance and Madh
Island.
With a strong desire
to popularise modern Indian cuisine, he came to Singapore in 2006 as part of
the opening team of The Song of India working alongside Master Chef Milind
Sovani. His efficient execution of Indian desires coupled with his creativity
and precise attention details have won the hearts of many diners at this iconic
establishment.
He has served his
creations to many Bollywood celebrities, prominent industrialists, political
leaders, and even past Prime Ministers of India. He has authored popular
cookbooks including Khana Khazana: Celebration of Indian Cookery. Chef Manjuhas
also participated in numerous competitions and won medals, including the Gold
award at the Singapore Gourmet Hunt 2006. He is most well-remembered for his
stellar performance on the very popular Channel News Asia Reality Cooking Show
‘The Perfect Meal” in 2009 being the Finalist and continued on in season 2010
as mentor chef to the new entrants on the show.

Profile: The Song of India
Housed in a beautiful black-and-white
heritage bungalow, The Song of India promotes contemporary Indian cuisine,
which is more refined, presentable and global, challenging and changing the
common misconceptions about Indian food, prepared by Corporate Executive Chef
Manjunath Mural.
The restaurant also promotes contemporary Indian art,
displaying these art pieces and sculptures for diners to enjoy and purchase.
The Song of India also holds art exhibitions changing the painting and art
works from time to time, giving a dynamic dimension to the warm and inviting
interiors.
The restaurant has been lauded with many awards including the World
Gourmet Summit Awards of Excellence and Hospitality Asia Platinum Awards, and
has been referenced in many food publications like The Miele Guide, Singapore
Tatler as well as Wine and Dine as one of the top restaurants in Singapore.
