The Ambience

Big Bern's American Grill is located at 978 Toa Payoh within the second level where the food court is, sited at Stall No 9.

This new restaurant occupies two stalls, one of which is used by Bernie Utchenik as the Central preparation kitchen where he prepares all the sauces, marinates, dressing, meat cuts, beef patties, soups, salads.

The Kitchen Toys Series

Despite the tight kitchen space, Bernie Utchenik's kitchen is well stocked with medium size industrial scale kitchen gadgets that can make any chef drool.

Below is the Blender & Mixer used to make Bernie Utchenik's Signature Beef patties.

Meat Cutter - the meat cutter can cut the meat evenly at the desired thickness.

Meat Tenderiser - this meat tenderiser is used to prepare the meats used in the Po Boy recipe.

This huge stainless steel pressure cooker makes preparation of the soups much easier.

This revolving display chiller showcases a good selection of the sauces, dressings, condiments, herbs, spices that are key ingredients to make each Big Bern's American Grill dish so flavourful.

The lunchtime crowd on a weekday sees the food court packed full of office workers as well as blue collar workers from around the industrial buildings, out of whom about 95% are Asian Chinese.
