Squires & Scoundrels at 72 Duxton Road S(089531) - The Ownership The Beginnings & Background

Introduction 
Squires & Scoundrels at 72 Duxton Rd is founded in June 2014 by American Brent Oddson, 35, who used to be a Trader from the Finance industry  & had lived & worked in Singapore for the past 12 years. 
It is managed under Vespucci & Sons International Grocers of whom Brent Oddson is the Managing Director. Together with his Marketing & PR right hand man - Briton Oliver Osborne, 33 (who himself owns Osborne Holdings or OH for short) a marketing & events company, 
Brent Oddson sets Squires & Scoundrels apart as a boutique gastropub serving -  
1. Beer & Cider (*Bluesky Pilsner, Peroni(Draft), Tuatara, Rochdale Cider, Spitfire Ale, Citra Ale, Bishops Finger, Weizenbier, Oakham Ales Citra**) 
2. Cocktail (*Furtini, Greg's Negroni, Johnny Danger, Margarita, Mojitos, Tito's Summer, Scoundrel's Sangria**) 
3. Wines (*Reds & Whites**) 
4. Specialty Gourmet Burgers in 5 different flavors: New York, Madrid, Bombay, The Colonies, Ciudad de Mexico & The Territories (*side of fries*).  
Squires & Scoundrels' hot kitchen uses Australian fresh chilled Wagyu beef patty which when pan-seared serves to seal in the flavor to enable the meat to  exude a juicy sweet tender flavor after a 3 minutes' grill in the oven.  Diners can have a drink, chill out & enjoy a fun game on the Shuffle Board.  During the day you can follow Feera as she whips up delicious tasty Gourmet Wagyu Burgers.
The Beginning 
About a year ago back in December 2013, American Brent Oddson, 35, started Vespucci & Sons International Grocers where he participated in major events in Singapore including the Formula One Grand Prix, Pasarbella Goes to Town in Marina Bay Sands. Brent Oddson started importing & became the sole distributor of BlueSky Pilsner beer from Cairns, Australia. 
Ownership
Founder Brent Oddson, 35, is the majority shareholder for Squires & Scoundrels with a small number of passive shareholders who play no active part in the business but believe in the concept, the dream & wanted to be part of it. Brent Oddson handles the operations whilst Oliver Osborne, 33, handles the marketing & PR at Squires & Scoundrels. 

Origin of the name 
Squires & Scoundrels is so named as Founder Brent Oddson wants to brand it as a Gastropub where it's all about having fun. The term "Squires" denotes gentlemen, whilst "Scoundrels" denotes gentlemen who like to commit petty crime. In short Squires & Scoundrels welcomes all who enjoy a bit of fun, whether you are a gentleman or not. 
Background of Founder Brent Oddson
Since he was 15 years old, teenager Brent Oddson was pretty much exposed to the F&B industry, especially during the school holidays. He worked in the resorts town back in school days in the USA. Brent Oddson was part timing as a Bartender when he was still studying in university. Brent Oddson worked in Buckaroo in the USA as a Bar Manager, as well as in some Italian restaurant as Bartender before coming to Singapore. 

Brent Oddson, 35, hails from Colorado, USA. He came to Singapore in 2002 & worked as a trader in the Finance industry before he founded Squires & Scoundrels.  Family member who are or used to be in the F&B industry includes his Mum who is retired. Mum used to manage fine dining restaurants back home in the USA. Dad worked in the corporate world. Brent Oddson's brother is a photographer in Oregon, USA. Brent Oddson brings with him 7 years' of F&B industry experience.

Background of Oliver Osborne

Since 16 years old, Briton Oliver Osborne has worked in kitchens, cocktail bars, Members' club, boutique hotels. He has also spent 6 years in retail, managing flagship stores internationally for large American clothing retail. Eventually he decided to set up his own PR company managing PR events for companies in the fashion industry, Oliver Osborne did some key events such as the Tanjong Beach Club's 3 day extreme cinema sports series, he is also expanding his Nightlife Brand Internationally called "The Regular After Dark" into KL & Bali. 
The Positioning 
Squires & Scoundrels is a boutique Gastropub that serves great beer & cider, cocktails, wine, gourmet Wagyu Burger that caters to all who fancy a great beer or wine to pair with the Wagyu Burger.
The Cuisine
The cuisine served here at Squires & Scoundrels are Gourmet burgers with influences from cities all over the world, e.g. New York City, Mexico, Madrid, Bombay, Spain.
This is a brand that is the brainchild of Brent Oddson & the concept is developed by Brent Oddson, but yet to be trademarked. 
Expansion Plans 
Brent Oddson is keen to expand the brand Squires & Scoundrels here in Singapore and is actively looking for good locations to expand. Brent Oddson is also developing other brands in the pipeline to cater to a wider spectrum of patrons, but declined to divulge any further details as he is in the planning stage.

Here at Squires & Scoundrels, Brent Oddson & Oliver Osborne work with consultants Fine Palate to come up with the 5 Signature Gourmet burgers.

Kitchen Staff 
Founder Brent Oddson hires a regular Chef to cook the burger, & bartender to serve the drinks.
The consultancy company Brent Oddson hires does the recipes as well as the outsourced preparation work for him - such as preparation of the sauces, marinates, dressings, beef patties. 
Food Ingredients 
Brent Oddson shared that he uses very good quality fresh chilled Wagyu beef in individual patties packing from Australia. He uses fresh chicken breast for the Tandoori chicken dish here at Squires & Scoundrels. The kitchen does not serve pork burger, nor seafood burgers. Brent Oddson gets his burger buns from Fine Palate. The burgers are prepared ala minute.

Squires & Scoundrels focus on the experiential aspect, with food & menu that are customised to customer's palate. The Founder & his PR man are fun loving people & love to inject that bit of fun into the lives of their patrons.
Target to build brand - By ensuring the customers are having absolute fun. Shuffle Board Tournaments are held to foster rapport & interaction among regulars & new patrons to the Gastropub. To attract new customers, Oliver Osborne does it through social media, events.
