Beer Butt Chicken Part 2 - BLooiE's Roadhouse at The Aquarius

Before the Beer Butt Chicken is served, it is carved into smaller pieces for easy sharing. Here below we have Chef Mario at BLooiE's assisting me in carving the Beer Butt Chicken. 

Food Tasting Notes : Chef Mario uses a lot of spices in the seasoning rub on the skin that gave the chicken skin a savory buttery taste, the meat is tender juicy, tears off from the bones easily. 

The Cajun fries has a lightly spicy salty flavor, whilst the raw fresh vegetable salad lends a light crispy crunch to the dish. The dipping sauce made from the remaining Tiger beer in the can has a taste that reminds me of Hoisin sauce, and though it has a similiar hue liken to that of black pepper sauce, does not taste peppery but lightly sweet.  Likely the Tiger beer has absorbed the flavor of the seasonings ans spices to give this unique and appetising flavor.

Beer Butt Chicken Part 1 - BLooiE's Roadhouse at The Aquarius, Science Park 2

If you have not tried BLooiE's Roadhouse's Signature - Beer Butt Chicken ($38.80++) , you would not have said to have visited BLooiE's. 

The preparation : the fresh whole chicken is marinated with the secret spices and seasonings and chilled overnight to allow the meat to be fully infused with the marinate. Before cooking the chicken, some of the seasonings and spices are inserted into a full can of Tiger beer, the Tiger beer can is then inserted into the butt of the chicken. The whole chicken literally sits on the Tiger beer can and is then placed on the BBQ grill and grilled till juicy and tender. 

The cooking process : what happens is that the Tiger beer steams and cooks the chicken from the inside, while the BBQ grill fire cooks the chicken from the outside giving it a crispy outer skin, thereby sealing the flavors of the chicken completely. From the beer that exudes from the can, the chef made a dipping sauce out of it to go with the Beer Butt chicken. 

To serve : the cooked whole Beer Butt chicken is then carved and served in a platter with fresh vegetable salad and Cajun fries.

Bacon Mushroom Cheese Burger - BLooiE's Roadhouse at The Aquarius, Science Park 2

Of the burgers served at BLooiE's Roadhouse, my favorite is the Bacon Mushroom Cheese Burger ($16.90). 

The burger itself is huge : about 3" tall. The all beef patty is about 1" thickness. The bun diameter is about 2.5". The burger is made of 180gm all beef patty, smothered in cheese with bacon and mushrooms, grilled to perfection and comes served with fresh hot bun, the portion is just nice for a single individual serving.

Food Tasting Notes : the beef patty is made of beef that is nicely blended and minced, beef is moist, juicy, soft and fragrant, infused with lots of spices, very flavorful, and has pieces of bacon on it. The bacon is salty savory, not panned fried till too hard, but nice and chewy. The chef uses sliced fresh mushroom, and topped the beef patty with a generous dose of creamy mushroom sauce. The bun is nicely buttered and served nicely, toasted and hot, with very little air pockets. It has a layer of vegetables : fresh crisp lettuce, fresh onions, sliced tomato and a good portion of fresh mushroom  that is lightly sauteed , is creamy and savory. The burger comes served with French fries with spicy cajun powder, and coleslaw that is freshly home-made and tastes sweet. I love that the fries is crinkled cut. The creamy mushroom is one of the key ingredients that makes this burger SUPERdelicious !

Lamb Rack - BLooiE's Roadhouse at The Aquarius, Science Park 2

The Signature Grilled item on BLooiE's Roadhouse menu is their Roadhouse Lamb Rack ($33). 

The Lamb Rack is served with onion, mushroom, pepper cream sauce. 

Food Tasting Notes : the lamb rack is serve with mushrooms and onions with pepper cream sauce, and is tender grilled to perfection. The taste of the meat is not gamey at all. The restaurant uses Lamb from New Zealand, which has a better flavour. The lamb rack is tenderized and fully infused with the marinate. It comes with mushroom with creamy sauce, mashed potato and freshly sauteed vegetables. The mashed potato is nicely mashed and has a buttery flavor. The vegetables include long beans & carrots. The carrots are cooked thoroughly and taste sweet.

Shredded Pork Sandwich - BLooiE's Roadhouse at The Aquarius, Science Park 2

If you have time only for a quick meal, you must try the BLooiE's Roadhouse's Shredded Pork Sandwich ($18.90).

The sandwich is made of Jim Beam marinated BBQ pork, gently cooked and shredded, and served warm on a bed of lettuce, tomato, onion. The sandwich comes with crinkled cut French fries in Cajun powder and home made Coleslaw. 

Food Tasting Notes : according to BLooiE's Roadhouse owner Sarge Sargeant, the restaurant used the shoulder of the animal, cooked on a slow heat, after which the meat is shredded. Meat tastes like that in corned beef, the taste is sourly, vinegary. The bun is lightly toasted with layer of butter, is crisp and lightly sweet. The coleslaw is home made, tastes creamy and crunchy, the French fries comes with mildly spicy Cajun powder.

Quesadillas - BLooiE's Roadhouse at The Aquarius, Science Park 2

Quesadilla - served with salsa sour cream and guacomole, align with Mozzarella cheese & Cheddar Cheese mixed in the folds. They are panned fried till lightly burnt on the sides and served hot with three sauces. 

Food Tasting Notes : the cheeses lends a cheesy lightly salty flavor. My favorite sauce is the sour cream, guacomole dip is my second choice.
