Tasting Notes - The Chocolate cake sponge layer is thin with a gluey fluid chocolate lava flowing out when you sliced the cake. The Chocolate sponge layer has a distinctly strong chocolate flavor.
The dessert is drizzled with a generous dose of thick chocolate syrup. The lava portion of the cake has smooth silky texture consistency, & leeks strongly of butterscotch flavor in this recipe.
When you pair the Chocolate lava cake with Vanilla ice cream, it helps to balance & tone down the otherwise strong intense Chocolate flavor of the lava cake.
