Wine Tasting
This is the *1st wine we tasted for the evening *Fosso Di Corsano 2013, Colli di Luni DOC (hills of Luni), Vermentino Superiore from Terenzuola.
Tasting Notes - Clear very pale light pink tinge with a mild sweet flavor with a bubbly body, & a fragrant aroma.
This is the **second wine we tasted that evening, and is also the first red that we tasted. This is **Merlot Casa Nocera 2011 from Pagani de Marchi, 14.5% Alcohol content.
Tasting Notes - Of the 4 reds, this is the one with the darkest ruby color, strongest tannin level & acidity, an aftertaste with a distinct woody flavor & comes with a nice pleasant aroma.
This is the ***3rd wine (second red) of the evening called ***Saragio 2010 D.O.C. from the Toscana Valdonica Winery. Alcohol content 14.5%.
Tasting Notes - This wine has a red ruby color but lighter compared to the first red Merlot Casa Nocera. The flavor is strong tannic, acidic, but lesser tannin level than the Merlot Casa Nocera. It has a mild minty flavor aftertaste if you swish the wine in your palate.
This is the ****4th wine (third red) for the evening called ****Poggio ai Chiari 2006, from the Colle Santa Mustiola vineyard with 14.3% Alcohol.
Tasting Notes - Of the 4 reds, I love the Poggio ai Chiari for its intense sweeter flavor, lesser tannic flavor than the first 2 reds the Merlot Casa Nocera & Saragio.
This is the *****5th wine (fourth red) for the evening called *****Sacrantino 2010 from vineyard Cantina Fratelli Pardi, with 15.5% Alcohol.
Tasting Notes - Sweeter than the first red. There is an aftertaste of strong intense acidity & tannicity closer to Merlot Casa Nocera. Lightly minty flavor if you swish in your mouth.
